The Toyota Prius is a hybrid car, that runs partly on an engine and partly on an electric motor. This means that it is environmentally friendly because there isn't exhaust coming out of it all the time. At low speeds, the Prius is also very quiet because it is just the electric motor running. And, when you turn it on there is just a low hum, none of the VROOOOOOOM! that you get with most cars.
